Not sure why... the same empty weight in the rear, the same rear suspension, the same GVWR. The only difference is the weight on the FRONT axle, which isn't what you are concerned with.
That post should give you EXACTLY the information you need. The gas and diesel engine trucks have the same rear axle, and therefore the same carrying capacity. Not sure what else you need to extrapolate or why it needs to specifically be a diesel truck...

The gaser 6.4L in that test and my diesel 2500 are identical besides the engine. How much of that engine weight are you thinking would effect the rear suspension measurement in that test?

I think the Cummins weighs about 40 lbs more when empty at the rear axle than the 6.4.
So OP, imagine ib516s test only imagine there's also a 40 lb bag of dog food in the bed. Now with that imaginary bag of dog food in the bed, ib's 6.4's rear suspension has the same weight as if it were a CTD. In other words, there wouldn't be any measurable difference.
I'd bet $50 that you're all absolutely correct.
Unfortunately, there's no way I'd make that same bet/assumption on a $50k truck.
