Fair enough, it is your money. Honestly if you are planning to go over the 2500 weight limits, you should spend a tiny bit more money and buy the 3500. If you can afford it, I would encourage you to try out the factory air suspension on the 3500 as well. I think that would give you the best of both worlds... better ride and higher cargo carrying capacity.
Either way, the Ram is a great truck. We just pulled into Florida on Friday night, 1065 miles and averaged 11.7 mpg. We were getting almost 13 on the first leg of the trip, then we hit some wind and ended up losing 1 mpg. Truck pulled my little (8500 lbs) camper without a care in the world. 6th gear the entire way, cruise control at 66-68 mph. I'm very happy with my Ram!
