I only did one your there at Camp Kyle (now closed) in 94. My wife and I still joke about the $700 phone bill!
And as for moonlighting, I was young soldier with 2 kids back then, so I always had something going on to supplement Uncle Sams paycheck - half the people I worked with at the part time jobs where also military. I never got down to only having one job 'till I got out....the biggest thing I miss from those days it the large amounts of leave time. Hard to get that much PTO in the civilian workforce.
