My last three Rams were white long beds. No gawdy looking noodle art gold hoop dee hoops over the wheels or tacky belt buckle badges. Beautiful truck! I use my trucks to haul a gaggle of bikini clad babes at Ginnie Springs so a lighter weight easy to remove and install hitch is my preference. :B
I had a stroke Aug 19th and my left arm is STILL only about half back and left leg still a little weak...Last week-end, I took top part of companion hitch off, laid it on the tailgate and it on a tarp about 6' away from the truck, then broke base loose and wrestled it to the tailgate and admittedly struggled to move it to the same tarp....thought that was pretty good for a 65 yr old, 144# guy recouping from a stroke..it wasn't easy, and it was all I could do to lift the bottom part, but if I hadn't had a stroke, it would have been fairly easy..so it's NO WHERE near as heavy as you make it out to be, or in my condition, I couldn't have budged it...
If everyone's taste were the same, it would be a very boring world...I like chrome, I like the fancy seats, and my truck is a daily driver and I tow fairly heavy with it...Does that make me a worse person??.. or someone to be made fun of???? There is no etiquette today, and no Golden Rule...I guess I was brought up differently than those that live to cut on and make fun of others...Never have understood that, and never will....Life as we know it in these United States in 2016....kinda sad..
My post was in no way aimed at you. You have never come across as arrogant or as though you think yourself better than everyone else. In fact, I have posted in your defense in the past for that very thing. I know what the hitch weighs and I'm very happy for you that your recovery is to the point you're able to remove such a heavy hitch. I wish you continued success and complete recovery.
Thanks buddy, I got caught up in the moment...I'm finding out that Doctors are correct about everything they've said about having a stroke...and one is "emotions"....Never showed much of any to some extent, but I can blow up over some stupid little thing now, and as embarrassing as it seems, tear up while watching TV...embarrassing to say the least....so I'm dealing with quite a few things I never dealt with for as long as I can remember...So anyone that I've "blown up" at..or turned a post into a drama.....I apologize...I'm trying to deal with some of this.
I'm also here to tell you it took every fiber in my body to drag that bottom part of the hitch to the tarp...Actually thought I was going to pass out after I'd done it:B
