Please Help..

I was living in my camper for 8 months. I disconnected my water pump and bypassed it. Now I am trying to connect it back up for normal operation. I feel like I am missing something..? I have a 2011 Keystone Cougar 29BHS. Is there any diagrams or anything of that nature that can help me reconnect it? Thank you
  • Generic RV plumbing system.......

City water and pump discharge 'T' to feed cold water line
  • Thank you Cool.. I live in North Dakota. The winters are pretty rough. I didn't want it hanging out and have to insulate up the side of the TT.

Thanks for replying. I wish I could explain it better... Ill start from the back of the panel.. I have a city connection and the Fresh water connection, vent. That Panel was removed and blocked, I ran water from underneath the TT. On the fresh water tank I have 3 tubes. I am pretty positive 1 is the fill tube, one goes to the pump (bottom one) and top one, i think is the vent tube...? The outlet that feeds the rest of the TT is a harder line. That main line is disconnected as well as all other lines on the pump outlet side. I know it is simple.. but Im missing something. Does the City Water, when connected properly go through the water pump? Or should it have a T to bypass the pump?

City water uses the line that comes out of the pump. It should be tied in somewhere. It doesn't actually go through the pump, but it will fill the line all the way back to the pump. There is (or should be) a check valve in the pump that keeps the city water on the outlet side of the pump.

I have to ask.... why on earth did you do this? Why not just tie to the city water inlet?

  • Not exactly sure what you are asking about....but the water pump plumbing is simple and straight forward.

Line in has a screen, then the pump, then line out.
There may be a open line with a valve on the inlet side. This is used to winterize by sucking anti-freeze from a jug through the pump and then through-out the system..

(This picture does not show the winterizing option:)

  • Hopefully, someone will post a simple diagram. It is a very straight-forward scheme. The hose from the tank attaches to the inlet of the pump (you may have a crude filter on this line). The supply for the water system attaches to the other side of the pump.

You will have two wires, a positive and negative that connect to the pump to supply power. Some makers put an inline fuse closer to the pump and some makers have the wires connected through the distribution panel with a fuse there. These are, of course 12V supply wires, NOT 120V.
