Take a look at the stack of owner's manuals and warranty cards the dealer gave you. My strap was tucked inside the stuff for the awning. If it's not there, call the dealer, you should have received one.
The first thing I thought of with the power awning was how do you deal with it if it fails to retract when you push the button. I'm either paranoid, or I'm too well acquainted with Mr. Murphy.

That's also where they hid my strap, inside the owners folder , the one that comes with the 'new trailer owners start-up kit' .
If you have to, wrap some thin material around a nail of the appropriate 'c' channel size on your awning, it will act like the OEM awning strap for as many times that you will use it. Kind of like a temporary permanent fix. ;)
