Prodigy 2 cost

Just wondering what I should expect to pay for a Prodigy 2 brake controller plus installation. Any feedback would be appreciated as this is my first and I don't want to get ripped off...lol
Thanks
Steve

  • I helped my friend that bought a new travel trailer this weekend install one in his Tundra. Went to Camping World - $125 for a Prodigy P2, $15 for the wiring connector, and about 25 minutes to install. I would say about $200 if you pay for installation is a fair price. This is also what I use and I like it.
  • I paid just a little over $100 for a P2 on Amazon with the plug adapter that went in my 05 Dodge Ram. I installed it in about 10 minutes. So easy just unplugged a connection and plugged in the adapter. Had to drill two small holes to mount with excellent instructions and a DVD on how to setup. Great deal and it's works super.
  • They are not hard to install yourself. About 15$ for a connector and about $100 ish for a Prodigy P2 and you are in business.

If you can plug in a usb cable and hang a picture you can install a brake controller.

I have bought my last three Tekonsha proportional brake controllers used from EBay for $15-35 used. All three have been in like new condition and have worked flawlessly. (Three different tow vehicles)

However, $100.00 isn't that much for a brake controller new in the box.

    Thanks!

We just had a P3 installed in our "pre-wired" 2006 Jeep Liberty, it was pre-wired for brake pedal and trailer plug lines, but dealer still had to run power to the P3 unit, so it's still far from plug-and-play install. We paid about $200 INSTALLED brand new.

  • Ok don't know about installed but I just got the p3 used for $100 there is several on ebay for about that. Some vehicles are pre wired but the jeep I'm unsure. You could go to e trailer and look up your vehicle brake controller and they will show install
