prodigy 2

I am going to replace the brake controller in my new to me 06 2500 chevy with a prodigy 2. not sure of the brand on old one but it has a harness to the factory wiring. do I need to get one with a new harness or will the wiring that comes with it work. my old one has no digital read out.
  • Just spend the $20 and get the Tekonsha wiring harness. No cutting, or splicing involved.
  • I have done both, my suggestion is save the hassle and get the factory wiring adapter. It will save you some time and is not very expensive

  • Order the Harness to go with the Controller to make it a "Plug and Play" install. Also, make sure the Fuse is installed in the Fuse Panel under the hood.....I believe it is a 40 Amp in the "Stud 1" location, this sends constant 12 volt feed to the camper while towing.
  • I bought a P3 last month and it came with a wire harness that plugged into the back of the P3, but just wires at the other end. ETRailer also had a harness with plugs at both ends, so I bought one of those just for convenience and used it. I hope that helps.
