- DadoffourgirlsExplorerI have seen many of these trucks. I think the 2020 Silverado HD LTZ in silver looks fantastic. I think the grill in the picture looks better with the black truck. I think the color makes a difference with the different grills. Hopefully everybody will start to see a variety of colors with each of these grills. I keep trying to get seat time and miles in one.

I actually loke the Silverado in High Country trim Better than the Denali.
I wish it had the Denalis Tailgate though.
All things considered, I will be buying a Silverado High Country.. If it passes the seat test. Which is likely.
From what I am hearing you will be able to get that tailgate on the Chevy in a few months if you are willing to wait. - librty02ExplorerGMC does still make a work truck just no single cabs that I have seen yet just all double cabs. A dealer 1 mile from my house sells both the GMC and Chevy trucks and there is a lot of at least 50 GMC and 50 Chevy work trucks together all stripped down and white.
GMC has always been the better looking truck in my eyes but I just think if GM would mold the Chevy and GMC together they could devote there time to make the truck even better and be more competitive with Ford who has been beating them out for years now. I have had Fords for the last 15 years as GM left a hugely bad taste in my mouth back in 96 with a new vehicle I purchased from them but I do look at the big 3 when purchasing new as I'm not completely brand loyal. I buy the best truck at the best price at the time I am shopping.
That tailgate GMC has I can't imagine how many are going to need a body shop when it's lowered and someone left the hitch shank in the receiver... - HuntindogExplorerI actually loke the Silverado in High Country trim Better than the Denali.

It gives the Cadillac/Buick dealers a pickup to sell, this is why GMC tends to be the more "higher end" of the two pickups. The vast majority of GMC pickups sold are the Denali trim level, which speaks to the market that GM goes after with the GMC name plate and that generates a lot of income.
It gives GM the opportunity to make visual and content variations to the same pickup and giving them the ability to appeal to more buyers. This is very evident with the 2020 HD pickups, until the BUYING public comes to terms with the look of the Chevy version or GM changes it in a MCE, GMC will enjoy a surge in HD sales, as their version of the new HD appears to be much better recieved than does the Chevy, at least on the internet.
There are loyal GMC buyers who if reduced to only one option may go somewhere else. GMC sells more pickups than does most everyone below the big the three options, so giving up a portion of those sales, probably doesnt sit very well in a boardroom.
I am sure that ending GMC was a conversation in the big downturn when GM slimmed down their lineup. GMC came through that intact, and so I dont see them erasing GMC anytime soon. - colliehaulerExplorer IIII imagine the reason for both GMC and Chevrolet is dealers can have two different brands in the same marketing area and not compete with each other.

I still don't understand why GM makes the Chevy and GMC pickup trucks under 2 different names still at this day.I figured years ago when they restructured and dumped ponitac they would have done the same with either the Chevy trucks or the GMC's.
Them having both would be like Ford coming out with a FMC pickup line and only changing the badging everywhere on the truck...I just don't get it...
It goes back to the 1960's when GM wanted a way to sell pickups at pontiac, buick, olds, cadillac dealers. So, along came GMC.
Today GMC is besides somewhat different look, GMC no longer has the "work truck" version that Chevy has, and until a few years ago, the Denali was more packed with stuff than the top chevy, but now chevy has the high country, pretty much identical to a Denali.
Our 2004.5 I went chevy because I like the looks better, for our 2015 I liked the GMC looks and trim better and the High country interior color choices I didn't care for and GMC had the nice metallic blue paint that Chevy didn't offer. But IIRC Chevy had a nicer metallic red. - D_E_BishopExplorer

You might substitute Winnebago and Itasca for Chevrolet and GMC. Some folks don't want a Winnie but love Itasca, go figure. - mtofell1Explorer

Years ago I was looking for an F150 and they had one of these "blinged out" Lincolns on the lot. The salesman was trying like crazy to sell it to me. I finally had to tell him that I'd get my arse kicked if I pulled onto a construction site with that thing! - FordloverExplorer

I can't believe how much trouble GM seems to be having with sales on the new trucks.
Have you not seen them?
My guess? GM got their focus group from the local school for the blind. They thought it felt great.
