If its a 1/2 ton that trailer is too heavy, iMO. We had soemone with that setup or close to it on our caravan last year. He had issues.
I was asking for someone who is towing with one.
Not for what you imagine !

Wow, some attitude you have. You'll have enough power to tow that trailer with a 5.7L Camaro but you shouldn't. Time to listen to some experience! - rbpruExplorer IIThe simple answer is to tow it to the CAT scales on you next trip. For about $10.00 you will get the weight load on each axel.
No guessing, estimating or opinions of others, just the weight on each axel; then, you make the call of whether you are hauling to much of a load. - Community AlumniI have the previous generation 1500 Hemi. At 8k there's still plenty of power available. My truck handles the weight just fine.
- silverfzExplorerI tow a 7000 lbs 31 footer with a 5.7 tundra engine and in a rare chance a dodge hemi. its older 06 hemi , I have used it for short distances. No issues.
- PAThwackerExplorerThe 5.7 engine is in both the 1500 and 2500.
Marginal vehicle control vs in control is the reason why manufactures cover all angles. - NanciLExplorer II

I tow a 29' trailer 6300 lb. wet. The truck has plenty of power.
At 7000lb. the power will be good. The handling will be marginal.
Thank you
Jack L - rewindgyExplorerI have a 2010 Laramie with 3:55 gears and a 6 speed.I use the Tow mode which only uses 5 gears, I run between 60-70 mph with a 4700 lb dry 22' trailer. The 5.7 has no problems pulling it and I average 10-12 mpg average. I have however modded mine slightly, 89mm smooth bore throttle body, Varramm cold air kit, less restrictive muffler, 1000 lb air bags, Reese dual cam, hard tono cover. I usually have a 3300 watt gen, 10 lb propane tank, chopping block,5 galons gas, glider chairs in back of truck, 2 adults andone 5 lb dog. I am at limit for payload but not over tow capacity.
- WayneAt63044Explorer IIHi Jack, I have the same tow vehicle as Upstech76 and can confirm his results including gas mileage. My 29' trailer gross is 7,580 lbs but have not had this trailer to the scale to know the actual weight I'm towing. I've been thru the Rocky Mtns many times. I carry quite a few tools in the bed of the truck and have a flat fiberglass cover on the bed. I have no handling problems.
- bguyExplorerYou will NOT have a problem with power. You will very likely have a problem with payload and soft tires.
If you but into the whole "they rate 'em low" thing. A co worker just looked at a used TT had the resident "towing expert" tell her that a Grand Caravan can tow much more than the rating.
Satisfy yourself. - cbshoestringExplorer II2013 RAM 1500, 5.7 HEMI, 6 speed, 3:73 rear end, 1668# payload.
Like others have said, I would be more concerned with payload over power. Plus a good WDH/anti-sway system.
For what it is worth...my book on the 1500 has MAX towing slighlty over 10,000lbs (depending on model), but list standard towing at 5000lbs. I prefer to be closer to the standard number. Gives me a sense of warmth knowing that I have some margin.
