Question about leaking LP gas regulator, Model GR 630.

The street side LP regulator has started leaking from the small vent hole when I installed a freshly filled propane tank.

Regulator model GR630

I'm going to replace the regulator. I've read online that overfilled tanks can cause these regulators to go bad.

Should I worry about the current tank being overfilled and damaging the new regulator?

Thank you for your time.

I need to replace the small regulator on the street side of my 5th wheel. I see that some are 30psi and some 10 psi. Should I be buying the 10 psi, or doesn't it matter which one I use?

It matters. Figure out what you have currently, and replace it with the same.

I've been diagnosing my frig issues - will not cool on LP. Ordered a manometer to check the pressure, expecting it to be low, instead it was at 14" WC. Tried adjusting but couldn't get it below 12.5"

I ordered the Cavanga model above and out of the box it measured 15" WC... adjusted it until the screw bottomed out and still at 13"!

What next? I'm gonna send this one back - any other suggestions?
call them for warranty replacement but I think you have other issues with the fridge.

Probably best to start a new thread on the fridge repair.

BTW I have and highly recommend Cavagna brand regulator.

2010 TT.....not used in 2 years. No propane use in 2 years.

    this year....new full tanks.

Drained one in 4 days with only testing.

    Smells under the tank cover.

New regulator and new pig tails.......problem solved.

    6 yrs (+) old.....unused for couple years
Things deteriorate faster when left abandoned

  • Leaking propane thru small vent hole means diaphragm has cracked/torn etc.

Yes...liquid propane into regs will damage them
But that usually happens when propane condenses back into liquid in the long cross over hose NOT from cylinder........tough to fill them high enough so liquid comes out unless hooked up when laying on it's side.

If that 30# reg is OEM......you got good service from it.

Replace with a 30# Cavagna Reg. Better quality then 'others'

    Cavanga Model 914
  • I didn't think the new LP tank valves (OPD) would allow the tank to be overfilled. OPD actually stands for Overfill Protection Device.
