I don't think anyone is trying to justify anything. Tons of people come on here wondering if they should get a diesel or gas truck to tow their trailer. A video like this gives some examples of the levels of performance between the two and how they differ in their power delivery.

It also lets people know that realistically for most applications the real world performance will be very similar the difference will be upfront cost, fuel consumption and rpm.
