It is handy to have the higher 2nd gear ratio available at highway speeds when towing. It puts the engine right at peak hp at highway speed. I can drop to 2nd and if I hold it to the floor, it will stay in 2nd until just OVER 70 mph, even with the 4.10s.

That second gear ratio does suck when starting from a stop though, but it gets you to ~40mph in first.
