SKG just sent me a text and said his empty mpg over a 65 mile trip was 22.5 mpg.

That's a little better than the 6.4. Back in August I took a week long trip to San Diego from San Francisco Bay area. Drove all around San Diego dealing with commute traffic, city, two lane highway, and interstate. Also, to get there and back had interstate and two lane highway with passes > 4000'. I had about 1000 lbs of stuff plus family of 4. Averaged 18.8 for the entire trip.
