That would be pointless. You'd gain 500 lbs of rear axle rating on paper, but absolutely no actual additional capacity over your current 2500 with bags on it. Keep what you have or go to a DRW, imo.
As far as your trailer goes, if the GVWR number online is that far off of your actual trailer I don't think I'd trust any of the online numbers. Get yourself hooked up and run over a scale and see how it performs. If it's adequate, hit the road. If not, go look at dually options.
