I don't know why they even bother making a 25 series truck any longer. The 15 series has pretty much covered the payload for lighter functions. 35 covers the bigger payloads. The 25 is just there confusing people.
Look at what is on the dealers lots. 80-90 percent 2500's vs 3500's. That has a lot to do with the load capacity problems we repeatedly read about. Chris
The 250/2500's exist due to tax and registration rules and laws. Whty do you think Ford offers a F350 with a 10,000# GVWR.
I tried explaining the 14K is just a number that is there to keep my truck in class 3 for licensing and insurance purposed over on IRV2 after he went after me saying "you are over on your 14K rating and over is over" then another one was telling me how he is a truck driver and I would be fined if I was pulled over. I said I am licensed for 16K so I have nothing legally or safety wise that is over.
I don't think they like me over there, they booted me off until the 17th because someone was trying to figure out what truck to buy then stated they have to "SELL" their house first. I replied back "look no further" and made a comment about my trucks carrying capacity and posted a picture of my truck with RV in tow. That was my second warning as I did say a couple years ago I had something for sale and they let me know it was against site policy and I understood. No matter what I said to the moderator it did not matter since the comity had all ruled against me. I mentioned in a post to a new guy not to ever post even on a mention of sale post that has the work Sale in it, "that" was not acceptable since the next time I logged in I was banned for two weeks.
I had a discussion with one of the moderators on this subject a while back and he finally conceded that there was no way I could be considered overloaded since at 9.700# on the rear axle that its rated for and with nothing on the front axle I am over 14K. I asked for him to come on and back up our discussion he did not and the next day I get the violation. Guess he did not like that!
Sorry I had to vent!
