Ram Asin Trans fluid

I was looking through my manual today and noticed that the Aisin tranny requires a special fluid with code JWS3309. When I find an fluid with that spec it lists a series of manufacturers but not the Ram. Has anyone had this issue on their newer Rams with the Aisin trans?
  • X2 for the Mobil ATF 3309. I believe they say its a 6.8 quart change. I used a full 7 quarts, FWIW.
  • Look on AMAZON. Great deal on OE Mopar fluid delivered to your door $44.76 per gallon.

4 of Genuine Chrysler Accessories (5189977AB) AS68RC Automatic Transmission Fluid - 1 Gallon
    Sold by: autopartsmopar
    $44.76

Changed the fluid on my son's 3500 RAM last weekend. Draining JUST the pan 8 quarts came out. Removed the pan and filter an additional 2 quarts came out. I popped the line at the radiator but only a little over 1 quart came out before it turned RED. So we removed about 11.5 quarts out of 13.7 total fill.

The 3 bolts holding the trans to the cross member need to be removed and raise the trans up tim it stops to get to the 4 bolts at the front pan. NOT an easy task!!!

My Son used the AMZ/OIL ATF.
  • 2014 here. I used Mobil 3309 atf after searching turbo diesel register and other CTD sites. I bought the Chrysler transfer case oil on Amazon and run Mobil 1 in the pigs. DO NOT mix up the coolant. There are a few different ones and mine uses HOAT. It specifically warns about using the exact coolant. It may appear orangish at times depending on the light angle but it's purple. I bought it at the dealer.

Did you download the diesel supplement?
