Got the front camera installed. It works great for parking lots, like the one at work which is always full and hard to fit a large truck in.
Here's a couple pics and a video.
Grill removed.
Just for reference, the fluid coolers from front toward engine are:
- power steering (black, low)
- ac condenser (black, large)
- trans fluid (silver, high)
- engine radiator (silver with black plastic side tanks)
Camera location.
Video
If the video doesn't work, or is sideways, check back. I'm editing it on YouTube.
So here's how it works. Put the truck in reverse, the normal back up camera shows up on the screen. Put it in drive and the front cam comes up, and automatically shuts off (reverts back to sat radio or climate etc) when you reach about 12mph. At anytime, I can select "controls" then "cargo cam" and use the "back" button to cycle through all 3.
You can revert back to radio or climate (kill video feed for any camera) by just touching the screen.
I don't currently have a cargo camera, so it shows as a blue screen when that is selected. Under the dash, I have a spare A/V input (composite: red, white, and yellow RCA cables) I can hook anything I want to. Cargo cam, phone, tablet, whatever av source I want. It's empty for now.
