Yes you could just the fronts, assuming the rim width is within spec for a wider tire. I ran 245-75-16s on the front of my GM dually, with the stock 215-85-16s on the rear. Drove better IMHO too. I had 6.5" rims iirc. I would not go to a 265 or wider with that rim. You need a 7, better yet 7.5" rim for 265s.
My rig was 4ad too. Tire Siam difference was the same at 30.6" iirc.

I had 285's on my 2010 Ram dually with the factory rims. They wore great. It did take a 2" spacer in the rear to keep the tires from touching.
