I plan to disassemble one of mine (manual crank style) soon, but it may be a week or so. I looks to me like you drive the pin holding the gear on the top of the shaft, and the whole thing drops out the bottom. I would love to read a post where this has already been done too!.

I did read a thread on how to do it to Hapijac motorized units.... somewhere.
