Probably because at 100K the glow plugs need changed.....
Glow plugs turn ON when key is turned ON...duration of ON is controlled by the powertrain control module.
Grid heaters are controlled by PCM/ECM and cycle on when ambient air temps below roughly 55*F-65*F.

Doubt the shop said they changed the 'plugs'....OP said they changed the 'plugs' but wasn't sure what all they did.

I know... I just recently read about the paper bag microwave issue. I remember eating popcorn from the Presto hot air unit. Had to flood the popcorn with salt just to be able to eat it. :B

I assume he was talking "GLOW PLUGS" ?

That is one thing I don't miss! VW Diesel PU and Chevy C20 PU both had them. Not fun to change.

RAM has trouble free grid heaters.

Duramax uses plugs :h Now that is some funny chit right there. :B

The Ram/Cummins does call out a diesel tune up of sorts, filters (fuel and air) adjust the rocker arms and thats it. My Cummins didn't come with any spark plugs though.

I think you should go back and get a refund on those plugs and then never go back to that shop again. What do the rest of you guys think?

If they are in the pay of Ford then why does Dodge(aka Fiat) come out on top?

I will say the charts are impossible to interpret since they lack info on what is being charted. How did Honda suddenly jump into the charts for example?
