This is an example of buying a new truck and then wanting to make it more capable. Simple solution buy the correct truck first. 3500 with factory rear air ride would have possibly met the needs.
Probably the most ignorant comment I've heard in awhile. If I wanted a 3500 I would have bought it. If I spent 70k dollars on a truck I don't think the 900 dollars more for a one ton would not have been a deal breaker. I bought a 3/4 ton because I wanted the rear coil springs because of the improved ride quality. Keyboard warriors like you that don't answer the question asked offer NOTHING of value to this forum.
Typical comment from him, no help just bashing, and having no clue as to why you want airbags.
I added airbags to my 3500 Ram, I couldn't tell any ride difference, but it was pretty rough to begin with, being a 1 ton. Running the tires down to 50 psi in the rear ,and 60 in the front helps mine when not towing. Hooked up towing my fifth wheel with the tires aired up, very smooth ride .
I doubt you will tell much difference with 5 psi in the airbags, keep your tires air downed a little bit , and you should be fine when not towing.
