It seems that some people have bad luck with vehicles and some don’t.
For sure, some injectors of all brands of diesel trucks seem to fail. I use an additive even though some think it’s a waste and use synthetic oil even though some say it’s a waste. I haven’t failed an injector, but one might be in my future.
In any case, as others have said, the brands have differences with the Cummins fan probably the most complimentary of their engines. I think all of the trucks are pretty good and in a few years when mine is old, I might consider a RAM if they stay with their newer body style look. I think you have to do 2019 for that look.
I’m not a fan of the aluminum body Fords with fancy lights just in case I’m in a minor impact and need body work not that I’m planning on a wreck. Another consideration is the newer electronics on all brands. Certainly nice to have, but who knows if it will be working in a few years. If you trade before warranty is up, that’s probably not an issue.
Nobody has mentioned it, but I’d also consider waiting and trying the upcoming Ford 7.3 and the Chevy 6.7 gasoline engine if you don’t tow heavy.
