Djg, the new truck you drove probably had the tires all pumped up to 80psi.
I'll hazard that a new F350 does not ride harsher than an OBS Powerstroke from the 90s unless the springs are worn/softened in the old truck.
I don't think reliability is the question here. Money is. You know as well as anyone, no matter how well a 25 year old truck with almost a quarter million miles is kept up, the likliehood for a breakdown, any issue, is greater.
Money wise, if the old rig is getting the job done, it's hard to switch from a $10,000 rig to a $70,000 rig. That's the real question. New truck IS 25 years newer in comfort, power, capability and technology.
