Good day, Our Sunnybrook is a 2010 and recently was diagnosed to have issues with the oven remaining lit. Our RV mechanic diagnosed the problem, contacted the manufacturer and was told the manufacture no longer manufacturers the current stove/oven and he is not able to get parts. So now we are in a dilemma, purchase a new stove/oven $600.00 plus shipping, tax and installation or I thought about a convection counter top oven. The TT is at the mechanic so I do not have the manufacture's name of the stove top/oven combo.My question is I looked at a counter top convection oven for a 30 amp, 2000 watt generator will a 1300 watt convection oven trip my breakers?Thank you West Beachhouse

If you really use your oven, only have a 2k watt gen (and plan to use it ), and camp where you need AC, my call would be to replace the gas oven. We have never used a stove in an RV except for as a bread box.

2010 doesn't seem very old and the oven isn't a real complex device. It sure seems like there would be a way to fix it. Do you know the model number and perhaps serial number? They may not make the gas valve or whatever it needs but you may be able to find new old stock at other sources.I thought I could find one cheaper than 600 but that doesn't seem too bad of price.

I agree with "rjxj". You say your RV mechanic diagnosed the problem, did he let you in on that? If we knew what he diagnosed and you posted that here, you would probably get Mfg's name and the part number and six places to buy the part. When it comes to the repairs, as my 15 year old grandson says, You can find that on Youtube. We had a 1947 Servel and many of the parts, at least the ones that fail, thermocouples etc, are the same today and when that Servel was made.

There's no reason why your existing oven cannot be fixed. Find another service person to look at it. Most oven parts are either the same or are interchangeable. Part numbers can be cross referenced, etc..Post the make, model here and as mentioned someone will know where to get the parts.

Ya, find a different shop.

Ovens are simple and easy to fix with interchangeable parts.

Maybe a handy guy on your block might be able to set you up or something like that.

I replaced the floor in all three slides for less than $600. if I took it to a shop you could look at $6000. -$9000. going by prices others have said they paid.

Yes you can run a 1300 watt convection oven. Just don't plug anything else into that circuit.

I did not know there are that many stove brands.

Anyhow if you only have 30 amp i would replace with gas.

No offence to anyone on this forum.....but being handy is the key to a successful hobby....you can do most, if not all of your own repairs which also helps you filter out the bulls**t "mechanics" are trying to feed you.
Most things can be repaired or modified. Problem is....the same guy giving you advice wants to sell you a new unit instead.

Given the RV mechanic's shop labor rate, I do not think you will get much of a diagnosis on a $600.00 oven.

Unless it is something simple like a loose part or a mouse nest, it could cost more just to dismantle the unit.

I would contact the manufacturer directly and see if they can help you. That is what you would have to do if your dealer was several hours away.
