Replacing Exterior Shower

I have been considering replacing the exterior shower on my travel trailer for several years for a variety of reasons. Now, I am forced to do it, as the hinge to the door broke while I was winterizing it this weekend. Looking on the Camping World website, they only offer one. Without heading to the storage lot to check measurements, I am asking if anyone knows if this is a standard/universal sized unit that is used on all travel trailers? Also, does anyone have any advice who has already done this type of project?
This is not a new installation, but a replacement for the current fixture.

Thanks.

  • I had the same problem. Let me ask, did the pin on the end of the door break? if it was the one that is spring loaded I just got a small bolt that would fit,and cut to length then put it in the the hole and used a spring from a pen to replace it.

That worked until I could find a replacement. I them went on EBAY and looked until I found a replacement.

I found a door that would fit by using the part type and # plus the size but found that just the door was more expensive than a whole unit so I bid on the whole unit and got the whole thing cheaper and just used the door, now I have a replacement if I need one, and I may need it because the fitting on the original is leaking now.........
  • There are quite a few different versions of the outside show assembly. If you have a part number or manufacturer number I would buy online. But if not go to a dealer and match up what you would need.
  • You're best to go directly to your dealer instead of purchasing sight... not seen. I had to replace the outside shower (the entire assembly) on my Keystone Springdale a couple years ago. I went to a dealer that serviced Keystone and had to special order a new one for me, because they could not find one readily available. It took about a week to get it, and took them 20 minutes to install it. Point is, if your camper is older, you want to make sure the new one matches, otherwise, you'll be cutting a bigger hole in the side of your camper.
  • Check sites like PPL, Tweetys, Dyers and other online RV parts stores and you'll see there is a variety of brand, makes, models and prices.
