My truck gets about 9 mpg at 62 towing, about 7.7 at 70 towing, about 10.1 at 55.
I'm sure almost everyone else has a similar spread.
To me the question is how much extra money do I want to spend on fuel to get there a few minutes faster.
Now, I'm old, retired and not on a firm schedule. So going slower works for me.
If you have only a couple weeks vacation and want to get there quickly - the increased cost might well be worth it.
