I have to admit, lately the flaming part has subsided on all these topics when they pop up. A lot easier for my brain electron to deal with the issues.

With all that said, I can see and appreciate the comments given.

BUT if towing ability is like the pickup, that's that's 10-15k lbs iirc. No slouch power wise. Looks good. Issue which hopefully will improve is a bigger tank per say, and better quicker and more fueling abilities. Tes I'm using ICE terms per say. As finally being said in another thread, folks are seeing the places these will work, vs not! No different than comparing my current 1500 gas ext cab to my older crew cabs, dump flatbeds, or S10 rig. Their tools!

I’d love to have a ripper 11 second EV. But even though it smoked a TRX, if I had to drop $100k on a pickup truck for some silly reason it would be a TRX Redeye or the baddest new diesel 1 ton in my favorite color! Not an ugly midsize toaster oven.

I'm surprised Rivian kept the hideous front cap and headlight treatment of the truck for the SUV. The rest of the vehicle looks fine. I have a friend in Seattle who has a long time deposit on the SUV. He tells me they are going to hold his price which was prior to their large price increases. He promised me a ride when he gets it which sounds like may be soon.

I think I've seen one or two around here. I don't know if Rivian will get it together and approach the production capacity of Tesla. Their R1S certainly looks much better than a Tesla Model Y, both in terms of looks and practicality. However, the sticker price is not very practical for either one.

The production ramp is ongoing but it’s taking longer than some thought it would. One interesting thing is they are following teslas lead on developing their own private DC fast charging network. Their L2 network is open to the public but their DC fast charge network is exclusive to Rivian. It will be interesting to see how fast it develops.

The “max pack” is pushed till 2024 at this point. No definitive date.

Maybe. But a lot of people tow light as well. Both the lightnings and Rivians have decent towing ranges when towing smaller single axle trailers. We saw one towing a T@B this fall on the Sunshine Coast. Never had a chance to talk to him. Think it was an American plate. He was coming off the ferry and we were getting ready to go on. Sharp looking little truck though. Kind of a darker green colour.
