Possibly under inflated ? D rated tires are recommended for 65 PSI.
CORRECT!
50 PSI is "C" rated.
65 PSI is "D" rated.
Per TIRERACK chart..
So, if OP really has D rated tires 50 PSI is most likely UNDERINFLATED for the load of their trailer.
OP most likely has C rated tires and 50 PSI would be correct pressure and in theory should be able to handle the weight of their trailer UNLESS they are severally overloaded, damaged the tires (curb rash, severe pot holes, run over nails, bolts, screws metal, glass, ect) or run excessive speeds above 65 MPH..
Folks LOVE to rip the tire manufacturers for their problems, not ALL tire faults are the result of the manufacturing process or the materials or where they are made..
EVERY tire manufacturer has been ripped on this and many other forums, give it a rest.. Blowouts sometimes just plain happens..
Overloading and underinflation ARE the main culprits for tire failure.
Tire failure can and does happen with ANY tire whether it is a car, pickup truck, motorcycle, semi or even a bicycle..
MOVE ON, not worth griping about.
If you cannot stand the chance of a flat or blowout then perhaps concrete tires or simply selling your trailer and vehicles and walking would be a better route..
