Just want to state, the only tire I had fail was a Maxxis, ST205/75R14 LRC. Steel belts broke. I kept them at 50 psi. But they did last over 30 thousand miles.

Maxxis is your best bet. And I agree. Good Year Marathons are junk. Mine blew out in their 4th year. They were ALWAYS aired correctly, never abused. Just junk. Maxxis has been my choice ever since, Except whe another brand came on our new TT. however it now has MAXXIS as well
