Exactly, and just to illustrate this fact a little further is during my 20 year success with these dreaded Marathons, my one foray with what I thought would be a better tire was with the D rated Kumho 857s which was a TOTAL DISASTER as detailed in
THIS THREAD.
BTW for the last almost 10 years I have run my Marathons within 50lbs of their max load rating ... i.e. 6800 to 7100lbs on two 3500lbs axles with ST205R14s and that's axle wt. NOTE the 7100 was one trip loaded at that weight for almost 800 miles.
