Ram should have spent their money on a better transmission for their HD diesels so they can at least keep up with the 10-speeds Ford and GM are coming out with for their diesels. Then again, this isn't the first time Ram/Chrysler skimped on a good trans behind their diesels for stupid pointless **** that will hardly be used by most consumers.
I'm sure the cost to design a swinging door tailgate is is peanuts compared to the cost to develop a transmission. The fundamental problem with ram is they choose to essentially outsource their transmissions.- ShinerBockExplorerRam should have spent their money on a better transmission for their HD diesels so they can at least keep up with the 10-speeds Ford and GM are coming out with for their diesels. Is this going to be a heated tailgate to help when pushing the truck.
Lol. Just kidding.
:B - ExxWhyExplorerSomebody's corn flakes must have been peed in this morning. It's just an optional tail gate.

I cant wait for the day the price of gas pops back up to $3.50 or $4.00 a gallon and all the pansyasses stop buying trucks and go to Kias and the like. Maybe then we'll get some common sense design back in trucks.

Yes, they just looked up the patent and did an artist rendition. I don't think the pic in the link is an actual uncovered tailgate.
I have not seen any actual leaked pics of the tailgate yet. Which is unusual for FCA as they have done a poor job hiding their new stuff before the official launch lately.
They had one hell of a Photoshop guy do it, he even thought to misalign the panels at the center gap due to frame and body flex.
A worthless design IMO and meant for wussies, women, and people who generally use a truck for trips down to the grocery store, hair dresser, or to go get their Minnie Mouse or Disney Princess panties pulled out when they're all bound up. So is the GMC abortion of a tailgate. If you live in a state where they use road salt and such, you had better be very diligent and liberal with the lithium grease, because after a season or two when all those pivot points and latches start binding up you'll be in a world of hurt. Can you say OEM only parts? Sure I knew you could.....Ca Ching!

There is a new tailgate. And they actually did a good job this time keeping in under wraps this time.
If this is directed at the Ram tailgate it has been on the Allpar site since 11/15/2017.
Do have to say the GM tailgate is cool but what is the price of that option and it (as of now) is only available on the top trim level GMC trucks.
