- OasisbobExplorerNothing better than a HTT for space to weight ratio which is the only reason we have ours. We tow with a mini van and have six in the family. We have a love hate relationship with our HTT of nine years.
- 1kennyOGExplorerI have been to the Hamilton show as well. It is not bigger than last weekends show at the International Center so maybe we have big and bigger but I don't think this one was "small" :)
- 1kennyOGExplorerI like anything under 5,000LBS with a big slide out (like my HTT) just wish the bunk end and floor would have lasted longer that's all.
- Jack_Diane_FreeExplorerWe attended the Toronto show last Friday and frankly was disappointed in the whole show. Same old stuff and really no new concepts or floorplans. We will give a pass to the Big Show at the end of Feb.
- atreisExplorerI'd be very surprised if hybrids are phased out. They serve a critical niche: People with families who need more sleeping space, and don't want to pull a 27-30' TT.
Unlike many comments here indicate hybrids don't save weight over otherwise identical non-hybrid models. The fold out bunks add weight.
IMO, the shows focus on the flashy models that are more likely to sell quickly at the show. Visit a dealer's lot (one that focuses primarily on trailer sales, not Class A sales) and you'll see lots of hybrids. - 1kennyOGExplorerI go to both every year LOL

The "Big show at the International Centre" is not until the end of Feb 27 - Mar 2.
The one that just finished is the old one from The Congress Centre. The original show seems to have more exhibitors/models/floor space than the one just past.
Beverley and Ken - CKNSLSExplorerIMHO Hybrids are the worst of both worlds. While you save a little on weight, you get the noise and in the event of bad weather and you need to move on-wet canvas. NO-THANKS! Not to mention poor insulation qualities. No wonder they are on the way out!

Beverley and Ken - dadmomhExplorerDon't know that I'd say they're phasing them out, but I do think there is a more limited market. For whatever reason, you'd think that in the colder climates they'd be almost nil, but go on the hybrid side here or to Hybrid Explorer and they're very popular. Folks in the far north LOVE their PUPs and HTTs. Like PUPs there is a certain market, but I think the PUPs appeal to more of the tent-camper types and TTs a larger market. HTTs fall somewhere in the middle. You're right about the prices getting closer. We loved our HTT for over 7 seasons and would not have made the change other than the fact that we're getting older and the HTTs just do take a bit more set up. They're tough to find on the left coast where the weather is perfect for them...a friend ended up driving from No CA to Chicago to get his. We loved towing smaller and lighter weight and then having lots more room. I doubt that they'll ever disappear, but do think the market will be pretty much limited to Forest River ROO/Shamrock and the various Jayco models + a few odds and ends. You either love or hate HTT camping. We love it, but we got older. Now we're very happy with our TT. The right time for us to make the change.
- 1kennyOGExplorerSaw several nice TH.
I like those too but I have no toys yet :)Spleenstomper wrote:
Curious if you noticed Toy Haulers? Wondering what is going on in the TH world. (Not intended to hijack)...
