- dadmomhExplorerWe're on #2 from RVW in Lakeview and obviously very satisfied or we wouldn't have made the second purchase. Totally aside from the fact that we saved over $4000 on the first unit, a ROO HTT, and more on our new Rockwood Ultra Lite 2604, is that they do stand behind their product. We have had a couple of minor warranty issues on our 2604 and just waiting for the last one to be cleared up...we bought it in May. The local dealers who tell you all about not getting any service, or worse, threatening you that they won't service your unit if you buy from RVW or RVD are way off base. RVW has a huge nationwide network of service providers. If one of their regular providers is not available in a reasonable time, they'll find you someone who can take care of you. Laurie, in the RVW warranty dept - Bless you!! - has been our contact and is on top of everything and is sure it's done and done right. Since this really is our last trailer ....really!....we still know that if our plans ever changed, we'd be heading back up I-75.
Most problems that come up are covered by the manufacturer of the item, not the dealer. When Dometic had a recall on their refrig a few years ago, the network dealer for service is our local one who thinks he's got the best, the cheapest, the most everything.....wouldn't buy from him on a bet. He's one of the ones with the threat of no service. The day we got the notice on the recall, I called them and had an appt for the next day....in and out in about 30 minutes. He sells Shamrock, he knew where our ROO came from and it was not any problem. Don't be intimidated. Find the unit you like at a dealer you're comfortable with and for the best price and go with it.
Suggestion for those who do buy from RVW.....make reservations at Indian Lake SP for at least your first night. It's about 3 miles away. If you do find anything that's not perfect, you're a 10 minute drive back. It's a huge campground, trees, water, nice facilities. - Terry_25ExplorerSo, Teach. How'd it go?

Since we ordered the same model, here in Illinois, will be interested in how it travels, etc.. Hoping it comes in by mid May. - _tiredTeacherExplorer IILeaving tomorrow for Ohio to pick up my Rockwood at RVW.
Teach - mrp116ExplorerWas shopping for got a quote from them. Shared it with the closest dealer selling the brand, and they came in 1k above. Wasn't worth the 1k to me to make the drive all the way out there. The dealer had already come down to just about the magical 30% you hear/read about.

From talking to my regular RV dealer in WV the warranty service on a towable RV is not the same as a vehicle warranty. If you buy a Ford you can get warranty service at any Ford dealer. He said that is not true with towable RVs. At that time, which admittedly was several years ago, he said he had the right to refuse warranty work on a unit that was not purchased from him. He said that it could cause a real hassle from the factory so what he did was told them that he would do warranty work but he would put them at the end of the line after his paying customers. Now whether this is still true or not today still would not stop me if I could save several thousand dollars. YMMV
I find it funny how dealers will say this in the hopes you will still buy from them. I would walk away from any dealer that would do this type of practice (you have to remember that when traveling you might need service 100's or 1000's of KM's or miles away from home.
Also as in our case the dealer we bought our Heartland from no longer sells new trailers. They're are in the used TT business. - _tiredTeacherExplorer IIWe have our delivery date - May 1. Picking up our Rockwood 2604WS and returning to Virginia. I'll let y'all know how it goes.
Teach - ymehpExplorerGot mine from ohiorvwholesale.com! Great guys to work with as I was working in an area with horrible phone service at the time. I was able to do all the communicating via email which was awesome and they were very prompt with answers of any questions I had. I had it shipped out to me via uship.com and could not be happier. My local dealers had no issues with doing any possible service work!

In my case, the sales person made specific comments about Wana RV and Terrytown that weren't true.
Big mistake. That's "Sales:101" isn't it? Never denigrate your competition; it makes you seem desperate and cheap. I don't blame you for walking. I would have, too.
Teach - DB_FamilyExplorerLast year purchased our Outback 301BQ from Holman,s RV in Cincinnati, OH. Live in Hilliard, Ohio so my drive was only 110 miles. Great prices, selection, no pressure and no BS. Spent the first night on their lot and was able to check out the trailer further after the PDI. If they carry a model you are interested in give Holman,s a call....Bill Lenard was our sales person.
