Thanks everybody! You've given me some great info to check out. I've already looked at the galleries for the units. Lots of good safety info, too. Nothing will stop me from being on the road, but it would be nice to have a little more room than in the back of my Jeep. LOL! I'm going to see if I can find some of these campers to see in person. Our main camper place where I live doesn't have many of them. They mostly have the big ones. Thanks again.

LOL - Hi xteacher!! Yes, its me! I like to visit this board for general info however, nothing beats the FB A-Frame specific forum if one has (or is considering) purchasing one. You know how nuts we are about our A-Frames! Not too many A-Framers here tho, nor on the PUX forum....but I enjoy visiting/inputting now and then.

I think its great advice you shared for the OP to check out the A-Frame group if shr decides to pursue that option! All the brands and friendly folk!

OP, I'd look at the A Frames. They're SOOO much easier to pop up than the traditional PUP (been there, done that), plus there's no canvas. The trailer can be popped up in about a minute - really! As a single woman, there would be plenty of room for you. They tow like a dream, and you wouldn't have to have a huge tow vehicle, unless you just want one. Also, with no canvas, you can feel a little safer, should you camp in bear country. Some even come with a potty, but I just carry along a Luggable Loo, b/c we didn't want to take up floor space with a potty. Please join our group on FB to find out more about these trailers. I typically travel alone when I take my Flagstaff A Frame out on the road. When I looked to downside from travel trailer to pop up, my spouse said he'd feel better knowing I had solid walls around me if he wasnt with me. The A Frame is perfect! Fast and easy set up and solid walls. Face it, its still an RV and if a person really wanted in, they're gonna get in.

Deterrants are great! Being aware of your environment, practicing personal safety and maintaining both your tow rig and trailer will be key to feeling confident while on the road as well as staying safe. I travel with 2-3 Bullmastiffs when I go to the shows and I have a concealed weapons permit which I got when I began traveling distances by myself. Its all relative to where you go and who you'll be with. I also carry pepper spray ever since I took a late night shower and it dawned on me how easy a weirdo couldve accosted me when I came out of the shower room...now I keep it under my towel. I had friends staying in their trailer on the grounds & told them about my feelings. They got a little upset and said I shouldve told them I was going to the showers. Lesson learned. Spouse wasnt too pleased when I checked in with him either. They all thought I was smarter than that. LOL so now I share with you so you wont repeat in being unaware.

I camp alone in a teardrop. Never felt like its hard sides would offer me much protection if a criminal or large animal wanted to get in. I travel with a large dog, in state parks so Rangers are aware I am alone and here in my experience they have stopped by to see how I am doing most evenings before they leave. I always setup camp with two chairs and try to make it look like two people are camping to a casual observer. And although I trust the members in the forums I frequent I do not trust lurkers so never post in advance I am going or where, but family members have my full itinerary.

I have never felt unsafe in my travels

I traveled and camped alone in both a pop-up TC and a Class B (Roadtrek). If I need to do so again, it will be back to a Class B for me. I never felt uncomfortable anywhere. I usually only hooked up the electric, figured if I needed to bail I could sacrifice a power cord and hit the road. lizzie
