Sounds like your tire guy may not deal much in truck tires. I would find a new guy that understands what you need.

For what its worth, I've been very happy with the price and quality of Goodyears. I bought some Wrangler SRA Silent Armor with Kevlar this spring. I wait for a Goodyear sale, then combine with their credit card offers ($200 off AND 0% financing for 6 months) and usually get a pretty good deal. Bought my 4 18" E rated tires for my Ram for about $1000 installed.
