Slide out supports!

2008 Jayco with 2 slide-outs. Are there suppose to be supports under the slide-outs? If so can I make some or is it easier to buy them?
Thanks

  • Aftermarket sells them cause folks think they are needed or are a great idea........WRONG!

Slideouts are self supporting when fully extended.
Now some are not designed to be walked on when retracted due to floor lifting.
But extended they support themselves as designed.

Supports can cause upward pressure on slideouts which at minimum could cause them to not properly seal, could cause misalignment issues and in extreme case cause damage.

    So 'No' to slideout supports
  • No, they can do more harm than good and are not recommended by any RV manufacturer that I've ever seen.
  • Nope, no supports are needed under the slideouts. Just make sure you're parked in a level spot so as not to make the slideout motors (gears, etc) work too hard.
