Some folks have different situations. Wet snow can weigh a lot, 15-20 lbs./cu.ft. There are some folks up here that are having their rafters snap on stick and brick homes.
I've looked at the rafters in my rig and I remove snow when it gets to a foot or more. I use a tool like this roof rake with wheels
