Well, ANY manufactured product can have a defect. Regardless of usual quality. And anything could have damaged it.
It's a sample of one. Now, if this was the third time it happened to you, I'd understand the "so much for" title. Any product can go bad or be damaged.
For the record, I've never had a Maxxis. I use Hercules. No issues so far. But that could be normal or luck. It's just a tire, not a miracle of engineering.
For what it's worth, I'll never run Lt tires on a trailer. They're not rated for the same payload etc. I'll stick to what it was designed to be used for. Just my opinion. Many have used Lt tires for years with no worries. Same with probably every other tire type and brand.
