Huntingdog and GMW Photos,
I have read through all the tires threads, read all the "experts" columns and a lot of manufacture data. I find it hard to believe that a trailer tire can't be built to go the same 60,000 miles my LT truck tires go. How often do the tires get replaced on a semi trailer? You can bet it is not 12,000 miles! If folks think their tiny TT, or fifth wheel tire are subject to more or different loads than a loaded semi truck trailer tire, the ones that are going 75-80 on the interstate, in the summer heat, with 40,000 pounds of cargo they need to think again. Tire companies CAN build trailer tires that will last just as long but they make more money selling cheap failure prone tires. No one can tell me that the marketing departments didn't dream up the "trailer tire"...
My question to you two is this: How many miles do you get on your LT replacements?
My TT has brand new tires so I think I can get at least one year out of them. I will not speed, I will keep them inflated to max, I will test the temp every time I stop, I will keep them covered and will try to avoid road hazards.
When I replace them it will be with LT tires properly chosen for my TT weight.
