I don't have room underneath the trailer or on the tongue. I am happy with it on the rear bumper....but maybe a little snugger to the trailer? Maybe not as wobbly as this hinged mount.

any worry about the weight that bumper can handle? My spare is mounted on the bumper just like OP (though i havent noticed if it's hinged or not) and there is a warning on the bumper about mounting anything non-factory to the bumper, as it will void the warranty. I assume this means it can't hold more weight reliably. I would like a storage carrier like you have, but I'm assuming I can't add anything without beefing up for the weight.

Here is the Bal Hide a spare from the above post. I installed one on my trailer, with an enclosed underbelly. Plenty of clearance. I would take a closer look to see if you have room.

BAL makes a underneath mount that drops down and slides out. You might have clearance Just ahead or behind the axles.Sorry I don't know how to do the clicky thing to show you what I'm talking about.

No under trailer mount would work. Too low to the ground and it is fully enclosed with very little room left after the 3 fluid tanks.

Probably won't interest you but I store the trailer's spare tire in the front pass through storage compartment - clean, dry, out of the way, but readily available should I ever need it. Spare hoses, spare power cables sit in the well of the wheel.

What about using a hoist style from a pickup truck. Where you use a rod with a fitting to lower it via a cable.
Fabricate some cross members under the trailer to support the housing. If you install it just ahead of the axles, it might offer more clearance going up/down driveways .
