Swan Song Aftermath

This link was our last TC trip.

Swan Song

Thought some might be interested in what can come next.

We just returned from a 40 day 39 night trip to the East coast and back.
No RV just traveled in a 2008 Chevy Malibu 4 cylinder auto.
This trip covered 9281 miles and the Malibu averaged over 30 mpg. Even gong a legal 80 miles an hour in Wyoming.
Only car problem a burned out headlight.

Proof of our Eastern terminus:
The Roosevelt summer "Cottage" on Campobello Island New Brunswick, Canada.

The trip proved interesting in several ways:

I would not want to do it in high season as we made NO reservations. Yet we always found a room though we were gouged once in Burlington, Vermont.
Most hotels were full, so we paid almost $200 for a $70 room.

Our rooms averaged right around $100 per night for the trip.
Some were very nice.
Wow a hot tub can feel nice on old bones after a long day walking around a museum.

Most rooms had a refrigerator and microwave so many meals were not in restaurants.
In fact most hotels provided breakfast. Some good, some not so good.

When seeing the sights of a town a well placed hotel as home bace proved delightful.

Finding a place to park our car was easier than for our small TC.

No bedbugs anyplace.

So there can be travel fun after the RV. Have fun with yours but when the time comes you can still have great adventures.

Still lurking as a force of habit I suppose.
