Sway Bar fitment issues for Ram

Called Roadmaster they do not have a fit for the 2018 or 2017 3500 2wd ram 6.4 gas so I will see how the camper handles and decide in the spring if I want to add the lower stable loads then, not going anywhere for a while with the TC anyway , thanks for the replies and thoughts

I went with upper stable loads on my DRW ram. Big difference in handling.

I have not yet researched the Roadmaster since I was happy with the bigwig on my last truck , do you have a Roadmaster on a 6.4 gas ram or know if it would fit without modifications?

I'd have gone w/the lower S/L's.
Put that weight on the big overloads right away, (that's why they are there) instead of the wimpy uppers.
Will add a bunch to the overall stability of the rig

Well the answer is no the hellwig big wig will not fit and work effectively on a ram with the 6.4 engine due to the resonator on the exhaust system ( yes you can make it fit but don't think it would help much the way you would have to mount it other than modifying the exhaust system) . I will give Hellwig credit they sent me longer end links at no cost to me but even with the longer end links and extensions the bar ended up being far to low to be any effective help with sway considering it is supposed to be as close to horizontal with the axle as possible and also would end up maybe 8 inches from the ground . so for now no sway bar for the new truck,just upper stable loads. I had the camper on the new truck yesterday for the first time seems to be ok for the short ride I took with it. I guess you can never research anything fully enough since one of the reasons I did not order the ram air adjust system was I wanted to have the ability to add after market parts if I felt I needed them , how did I make out lol ,live and learn as they say . it has been 1 year and 3 months since we first saw the mammoth and decided to buy one , that time involved selling our old truck and 5th wheel trailer ordering the mammoth and ordering the new truck and getting the truck rigged for the camper and at last it is all done and ready to roll just as our season here in the northeast has ended cant wait for spring!

Spoke with Hellwig and they are sending some parts that they say will help with fitment on the gas ram 3500 I will post the results , I would have thought that after over four years of the this model truck being out there with the gas motor that the aftermarket folks would have caught up and had a kit for this truck

It's a different application but I had issues with mine too. Instructions said to move the brake assembly plate out of the way. It wasn't in the way at all. Apparently a RAM model year change and Hellwig was unaware or didn't want the major financial outlay to change the instructions. My exhaust cleared the link by maybe 1/8" and wouldn't clear at all if I wanted the bar level. I called Hellwig and asked where the bar is most effective? "LEVEL" So I went to the muffler shop and had the tailpipe cut, rotated, and re-welded. Still ain't as level as it should be. The last money they get from me.

I will add my experience with the Big Wig on my 2016 Ram 3500 Dually.

I have the Torklift Superhitch, I have Pac Spring airbags both installed on the truck already, I called and spoke with the factory before purchasing the sway bar, specifically about fitment issues with the aftermarket air bags and the Torkslift hitch.

The person I spoke with at the factory told me, "No Problem It Will Bolt Right Up No Fitment Issues".... I knew this was not really going to happen with the Torklift Hitch, but whatever I had to have a swaybar and a big one, with the exception of fabricating my own swaybar setup myself at our race-shop, I figured I would be able to figure out whatever was needed.

I bolted up to the axle no problem, however the links did not work as I thought with the Torklift Superhith, the saddle to hold the swaybar end did not align up correctly and the Superhitch was WAY in the way.

I had to fabricate an additional bracket to allow the links to be in double shear, and weld the brackets to the Superhitch and the frame on the truck.

Yes, there is some major fabrication needed to make the fit with Torklift Superhitch.

I had zero fitment issues with any exhaust components.

This addition to the truck is not for the squeamish or someone that does not have some fab skills or access to them.

This is for the Big Wig 1 5/16" swaybar with Superhitch reciver ONLY. I don't know about the other applications.
