Taking a dump at home is soooo easy... Where do you dump?

This is a most entertaining forum!

I'm a bit lazy so haven't put in a pipe to dump into the sewer at home.

We bought a camp ground membership at a near by lake many years ago.

When we get back from a trip, we unload perishables at home and head down to the lake.

We dump and wash tanks and clean up the camper there.

There's a small campground restaurant so if it's really nice out, we have spent the night there and take time to clean it good.

There are so few TCs in our area that even during a "sewer session" we'll have someone want to take a look.

Our septic system has been working fine for 25 years. We have dumped our tanks into it for 14 years. NO problems. We put a box of Rid X in once or twice a year. Sour milk once in awhile. I use Lysol or bleach or lime away regularly.
The only thing I don't do is run my washing machine water into it...that water goes out on my flowers.
Your septic should work fine if u r taking care of it.

Nice of you to pay for the pumping. In that case, dump away!

I could easly dump into my cesspool but don't. I don't think the chemicals in my holding tank would be very helpful to my cesspool. Cesspools rely on bacteria to breakdown waste, the blue stuff we use to suppress black tsank oder probably is detrimental to bacteria cultures.

Switch to an enzyme based product and it will actually help a septic system.

You're lucky...that's a long time and you're obviously a betting man.

Not everything dissolves and heads down the field. The sledge on the bottom and the scum on the top continue to build up over time. If there isn't enough separation (enough room) for the effluent (gray water) and the scum starts to head down your pipes into your field...a clogged drain field is in your future. Cheaper to keep the tank pumped on a regular basis.

For us; we have rentals, and as I can't control what these people put down the toilet, we pump them on a regular basis to protect our investment. How often depends on how many people are in a house using the system.

You were told its a clean out for the sewer so yer just cleaning the sewage out of your camper... right?!

With that much slope the tremendous suction could implode the toilet... So be careful to stand back you wouldn't want anything to happen.

I have been dumping the TC in the septic over 10 years, no problems there either. If the chemicals have hurt anything, I do not know it and see no indications of issues. My life's experience has been, put nothing in your sewer system that you have not eaten or drank, toilet paper excepted. Chew your food well.

Seriously, it's sewage, and rarely is that not acceptable to put into a sewer line. Treatment plant or septic system, that's pretty much what they're meant for.

A quick phone call to your public works would give you an answer for your area.
