Gulf Waters RV Resort near Port Aransas, Texas wouldn't let you do it. Actually, I don't think they'd let you stay there even if you leave it on the truck.
No popups. No travel trailers less than 24 or 25' (I forget which). It's got owned sites and is apparently run like an HOA. Thankfully I called ahead and they politely (honestly, they were very nice) pointed me to Pioneer RV Resort or the State Park. We didn't end up going anyway.
So, it could happen at some private "resort" type places.
I don't expect you'd ever have a problem at a true campground. . . especially National, State, or County properties.
