Televisions and towing??? On mount or on bed??

My TT did not come factory with a mounted TV .

I put mine on the bed. The mount I have would allow it to swing around and break. I also am not that sure that the spot on the wall where it is mounted is strong enough to support it while bouncing down the road.

Can't see any reason to take it off a mount when travelling but would depend on the mount. Newer TVs are feather light too which helps. I would hate to have to take the TV down and put it back up all the time.

There are a few articulating mounts that lock in place for travelling, like the Mor/Ryde one here. Installed one in our bedroom - well made, works great. Have seen a few RVs at shows where a velcro strap is used to secure the TV. I did that in a previous TT. Our current TT came with a factory articulating mount that you just push the TV against the wall to "latch" it in place. Bought this one a few years ago and is junk.

TV on an articulating mount, I leave it in place held with a bungee cord. It has held up fine so far.

We take ours down and place on the bed. Have a mount with an articulating arm and I installed a quick release mount so we can remove it.

In our old trailer, we had a spot for a TV, but it didn't come with one, so we filled the hole with a 27" tv and whenever we traveled I just threw it face down on the bed with a blanket over it. It always stayed put. Our new one has a TV in the living room area that is mounted to the wall from the factory and came with clips to go around the screen and keep the arm in place. I installed a 19" tv/dvd combo on the wall in the bedroom with a swing arm mount and it stays put where ever we go. I tightened the bolts on the swing arm so it's harder to move and doesn't swing all over the place. It's been up there a year with no issues and that includes a trip from FL to MD and back. I'll note also that being that it's an older flat screen with the dvd combo it's fairly heavy for a tv that size and it seems to be doing well. All I did was mount it where the wall said mount tv here. :)

We've always had ours is on articulating mounts and never removed them. I tighten the arms so that they require a little bit of effort to move them. We've never had one come out of it stowed position or fail from vibration.

The tv stays on the mount. Since we use a swivel mount we do put a strap around it to prevent it moving around.

I'm right there with you. I go camping to get away from the TV set.

With that said, we do have one in the living room and one in the bedroom. We've never dismounted them for travel, but we do strap the livingroom TV back against the wall so that the swing arm doesn't move during towing.

Mine is similar to this, but not with the arms. So it just simply hooks over the flat end and sits. Can be removed just by lifting up.

This one, has the 2 arms that extend, allowing for turning the television side ways a bit, and the arms that are attached to the television will allow it to be tipped up and down. This is the best of both the arm mounted and the flat mounted I've seen.

Not sure what the price would be, but my flat one with no arms was right at $100 at Wall Mart about 10 years ago. By the way, I use the same wall mounts in my house (not the one with the arms, the flat ones that allow the television to be lifted off.)

In a camper, they work very well, as long as they are secure to the wall. This is by far, the best of both the arm mount and the flat mount I've seen yet!
