Seems 'new law' changed that. No inspection/no registration
HB 2305 was passed during the 83rd legislative session. This bill eliminated the inspection sticker resulting in a single-sticker system and makes vehicle registration dependent on obtaining a passing vehicle inspection.
Annual trip to TX now required for inspection in order to renew registration???? vs just getting it within 10 days of returning to state (which many TX folks didn't do for years)
