Not debating manual vs automatic plenty of threads on that already, however for me personally I like a manual and considering I'm a dodge fan they still offer one. But as I look at the numbers payload...

I went from a Dmax Allison which was the first "good" auto trans in a pickup ever. Loved it, to a 6 speed Ram. Wanted the Cummins and Mega but wasn't happening with the shatty 4 sp auto.
120k later, mostly wife driven miles, it's been a great truck and will still be for many more miles but if I was buying a new Ram today, it would be an Aisin trans hands down.
Just rented a fleet of 2014 Cummins Rams. Couple Aisins, mostly 68 rfes and they are great.
Only thing I like better with my G56 trans is the aftermarket exhaust brake has more retarding power than any of the turbo brakes in the newer pickups.
