I also prefer a manual transmission but realized that automatics have surpassed manuals for towing in the LDT and some MDT markets.
About 20 years ago I started seeing many more automatic off road rigs. Now when you look at rock crawlers, most are automatic. In ORV and OHV circles, the CVT has taken over manual shift.
