On the Ram Tradesman pickup models, the electric transfer case is a $245 option. I did not find which hubs are used on the manual transfer case verses the electric.
There are NO hubs on the Ram trucks. They turn all the time, as if the hubs were "locked" 100% of the time.

Frankly, I don't understand why anyone would be so closed-minded as to not even consider an automatic transmission. Please explain why you don't think that the modern automatic transmission is up to the task.
You don't like them. Fine. Why?
I don't see anyone here saying that an automatic is not up to the task, just that they don't want one.
An automatic in a diesel especially is just an expensive repair waiting to happen. Even then, if I preferred an auto, I would have one.
The primary reason why I won't have an automatic transmission is that I find it extremely annoying when that it seems to shift whenever it wants. I want 100% control over which gear is selected.
Well, that and I find driving without shifting unbelievably boring.
My rock crawler has a manual as well and automatics work fine off road as long as the gearing is low enough on the truck. My only real complaint about autos in that environment is that sometimes, if the trail is off camber or steep enough, the tranny will starve for fluid and the truck won't move. This is more common with some than others but when they work, autos work fine if they are kept cool and the gears are low enough.
It comes down to PREFERENCE and I prefer a manual and have no desire to use an automatic.
